Jamie Hagen appointed as EDI Officer for the British International Studies Association
Dr Jamie Hagen from the Politics department has been nominated as the new EDI Officer for the British International Studies Association (BISA).
We are delighted to announce that lecturer of Global Politics, has been nominated as the new Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Officer for the (BISA).
The EDI Officer plays a vital role in leading BISA’s strategy to ensure that the association reflects and supports diversity in all its forms: demographic, intellectual, pedagogical, methodological and institutional. The role also involves embedding inclusive practices across BISA’s policies, processes, governing arrangements and activities.
In response to the appointment, Jamie shared:
I am pleased to be appointed as EDI Officer at a time when it is so crucial to support and prioritise equality, diversity and inclusion across the sector. I look forward to building on the work of the two previous EDI officers to think creatively and act in solidarity with those most often left out of academic conferences and programmes and marginalised within the discipline.
This appointment reflects Dr Hagen’s ongoing commitment to advancing inclusive values within the wider academic community.
